Discussion of the Day: Bitcoin Rhodium (XRC)

-Today's Crypto of the Day is Bitcoin Rhodium (XRC), and it's current price is $3.72.
-Since 2/18/20, every day I have featured a new crypto of the day for us to discuss. I try to make follow up posts within a week, but I am behind at the moment. I try to mix in the most popular projects, along with some long shots. Sometimes I even feature projects I personally am not a fan of, just for the sake of conversation. I feel it is important for us to focus on the pros and cons of all projects, even if that sometimes means playing devil's advocate. At this point, I plan to try to continue making these posts until I have completed a full year.
-If you decide to reply, please add something more than, "scam" or "this coin will moon to $1000 by the end of 2020". Please say why. If it is a scam, link or show evidence. If you feel it is a true moonshot, what makes this project special with that sort of potential? It seems many people within this community only promote projects they are financially invested in, while trash talking coins they do not hold bags.
-I strongly encourage everyone to follow up on past discussions and you can still make comments on them. There is a lot of valuable information on many of these posts, so please check them out as you have time. You may learn a lot regarding some of these projects. I know I certainly did!

Bitcoin Rhodium FAQ

Bitcoin Rhodium FAQ

What is Bitcoin Rhodium?

Bitcoin Rhodium is a decentralized store-of-value cryptocurrency with a strong appeal for investors looking for a long-term investment in crypto securities.

Is this a Bitcoin fork?

NO. Bitcoin Rhodium is not a Bitcoin fork and uses its own unique blockchain.

Is it an open-source project?

YES. It is programmed in C# language and source code can be found here on GitLab.

When was it launched?

Mainnet launched on October 20, 2018, but the project started on December 1, 2017

Why did you decide to create Bitcoin Rhodium?

Our passion is to develop a cryptocurrency that is primarily held by investors for the long-term. We want XRC to be a niche savings account accepted by many, because of both its scarcity, but also because of its community of investors who see the long-term potential in holding a very scarce coin. Please read the White Paper and take a look at our Road Map to know more where Bitcoin Rhodium is headed. You can also check our Progress page to see the actual development.

How does Bitcoin Rhodium differ from BTC?

The main difference is that Bitcoin Rhodium’s max supply is just 2.1 million coins or one-tenth of Bitcoin’s.

What is Bitcoin Rhodium’s ticker?

XRC

Is it minable?

YES. Bitcoin Rhodium uses Proof-of-Work (PoW) system as a consensus mechanism. You can mine XRC with any compatible x13 hardware. Read our Mining Guide, choose a suitable pool on MiningPoolStats and start mining. You can calculate your profits on WhatToMine.

How fast are Bitcoin Rhodium’s transactions?

XRC has the same block interval target as BTC, which is 10 Minutes.

Is Bitcoin Rhodium a privacy coin?

Same as BTC, Bitcoin Rhodium is pseudonymous rather than anonymous, coins within a wallet is not tied to people, but rather to one or more specific keys or addresses. Thereby, XRC owners are not identifiable, but all transactions are publicly available in the blockchain. But we are planning to add more privacy features soon. To learn more about that please read the this post written by one of our devs.

Where can I get Bitcoin Rhodium?

You can buy it on multiple exchanges, acquire through mining or even get it for free if you already hold some.

On what exchanges does Bitcoin Rhodium trade?

XRC can be purchased on following exchanges: HitBTC, P2PB2B, Changelly, Bisq, Tradesatoshi, FatBTC and WhiteBIT

How can I get XRC for free?

You can get Bitcoin Rhodium for free participating in Strong Hands Program, which is one of our use cases. To get free coins all you have to do is to hold any amount of XRC on your wallet for three months. That’s all. No other requirements.

What other use cases does Bitcoin Rhodium have?

Two more use cases are: The Crypto Trinity — an efficient ecosystem together with Bitcoin and Litecoin that can facilitate users and investors with different needs and preferences. And FreeMarket ONE — tor-based Peer-2-Peer barter trading platform, anonymous marketplace to trade precious metals worldwide.

Where can I store Bitcoin Rhodium?

You can keep your coins safe in one of the following wallets: Electrum-XRC, Trezor, Full node wallet, Magnum wallet or Web wallet.

Which one of these wallets should I choose?

It depends on what platform are you and how you plan to use XRC. Hardware wallets has proven to be the most secure way to store crypto, so choose Trezor wallet for maximum security. For desktop on any major platform use Electrum-XRC. It is secure and really easy to use. Magnum wallet will give you simple access to your coins on Android (iOS app in development). Web wallet works in any browser but we recommend you to use more decentralized third-party solutions.

Are there any active bounty programs?

You can earn XRC by being Bitcoin Rhodium’s ambassador. If you’re interested in participating, please fill in this form. More info about the program on website.

Where can I find more info about the project?

Mining Setup

To mine Bitcoin Rhodium you need to set up an XRC wallet and configure your miner of choice. You can choose between Web wallet, Electrum-XRC or Magnum wallet. To set up a web wallet please visit wallet.bitcoinrh.org. Or download and install Electrum-XRC wallet (recommended) for Windows, Linux and MacOS.
Web wallet: wallet.bitcoinrh.org
Electrum-XRC wallet: electrum.bitcoinrh.org
Magnum wallet: https://magnumwallet.co

Sign up for XRC web wallet if not yet done so

  1. Create an account, with your username, password and secure question.
  2. Sign in and click “Create Wallet”.
  3. Set up a strong transaction password. Make sure you store it securely in a secure password manager of choice.
  4. Copy the seed somewhere safe. It’d be a good idea to write seed on a hardcopy and keep it safe.
  5. Paste it to confirm you got it right.
  6. Grab an address for the mining step. Your wallet is now ready to mine XRC.

Instructions for mining XRC on the official pool

Pool link: poolcore.bitcoinrh.org
  1. Any miner that supports X13 will be able to mine XRC. We have a few examples below of miners that are well tested with Bitcoin Rhodium network.
  2. For any miner, configure the miner to point to:
(0–0.8 GH/s) stratum+tcp://poolcore.bitcoinrh.org:3061
(0.8–2 GH/s) stratum+tcp://poolcore.bitcoinrh.org:3062
(3–4 GH/s) stratum+tcp://poolcore.bitcoinrh.org:3063
(5+ GH/s) stratum+tcp://poolcore.bitcoinrh.org:3064
with your XRC address as username and x as password. You don’t need to open an account on pool. You will be mining to XRC address and mined coins will be transferred to your wallet
after blocks reach 10 block maturity
after you mined up minimal amount of coins (currently 0.1 XRC)
sometimes mined blocks could get rejected by network (orphaned) after they were counted as valid blocks. This is normal network behavior to follow longest chain
  1. http://poolcore.bitcoinrh.org is used to follow your miner and network statistics.

Baird manufactures bars to the highest quality standards and has been building their reputation since 1967. Bitcoin is the most widely used form of crypto, according to the coin market cap. Some of the more widely used gold and silver bullion companies accept alt coins.
